Yesterday I showed a super sweet recipe I now am in love with! But today...today is all about the cheese!
Look at all that cheesy ooey gooeyness! I think in my life I have four main food groups: Cheese, Sugar, Bread and Popcorn...not necessarily in that order. Today I'm showing you a favorite treat of mine that involves lots of cheese and lots of flaky bread.
This is an easy side dish you could make for dinner, or a great addition to any spread at a party, or even just as a snack on a Tuesday afternoon. It's your world! Eat up! Head on into the kitchen and make sure you have all of these:
Since it's just Hubby and I right now we always buy the small cans of crescent rolls. We just recently celebrated our one year anniversary and (almost literally) every time we turn around people are asking us when we're going to pop out a little one. We're still
Lay each string cheese on the widest part of the crescent & roll up:
Once rolled, brush with more butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Make sure you tuck in the corners really well...otherwise, you get this:
They still taste great if they explode, but nothing beats biting into a perfectly cooked roll and having your mouth fill up with hot, gooey cheese! Awesome!
My recipe makes enough for four rolls, but can easily be doubled.
Ingredients:
1 Can (4) crescent rolls
2 sticks string cheese
2 T butter, melted
1 clove minced garlic
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
2 T Parmesan cheese
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper, or spray with non-stick.
Unroll crescents. Mix butter, garlic, Italian seasoning and salt. Brush butter mixture over crescents. Place string cheese half on the larger side of the crescent and roll up, making sure to tuck in the sides as you go. Brush tops with more butter and sprinkle on Parmesan cheese.
Bake for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool a bit and serve!
It's so great watching my guests faces light up when they bite into these. And I love sharing them with Hubby when it's just dinner for two. Do you love garlic? Know any great cheesy, buttery, garlicy recipes I should be trying? Let me know! I'd love to hear them!
Thanks for stopping by!
